1.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out by Plumbing and Heating Surgeons Ltd ("the Company", "we", "our", "us").
1.2 By accepting a quotation or instructing us to commence work, the customer ("the Client", "you", "your") agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1.3 These Terms & Conditions shall apply unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated in writing.
2.2 Estimates are provided as a guide only and may be subject to change where additional labour, materials, or unforeseen work is required.
2.3 Any additional work identified after commencement will be discussed and agreed with the customer before further charges are incurred.
2.4 Quotations only include work specifically listed within the quotation.
3.1 Deposits may be required for larger jobs, installations, or where materials need to be ordered in advance.
3.2 Deposit amounts will vary depending on the size and nature of the work and will always be agreed with the customer before any payment is taken.
3.3 Deposits may be non-refundable where materials have already been purchased or costs incurred by the Company.
4.1 Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4.2 We reserve the right to request staged payments for larger projects.
4.3 Accepted payment methods will be advised at the time of invoicing.
4.4 Failure to make payment by the due date may result in late payment fees, interest charges, and recovery costs in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
4.5 The Company reserves the right to suspend ongoing work until overdue payments have been received in full.
5.1 Emergency and out-of-hours call-outs are available subject to engineer availability.
5.2 Emergency work may be charged at a higher rate than standard working hours.
5.3 Minimum call-out charges may apply.
6.1 Customers must provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling of booked work.
6.2 Failure to provide adequate notice may result in cancellation fees being charged.
6.3 Cancellation fees may also apply where materials have been ordered, labour allocated, or business losses incurred due to late cancellation.
7.1 The customer must provide safe and suitable access to the property and work area.
7.2 The customer is responsible for ensuring adequate access to water, gas, and electrical supplies where required.
7.3 Valuable or fragile items should be removed or protected prior to commencement of work.
7.4 The Company reserves the right to refuse or cease work where working conditions are deemed unsafe.
8.1 All materials supplied by the Company remain our property until paid for in full.
8.2 We accept no liability for faults arising from customer-supplied materials or equipment.
8.3 We reserve the right to use equivalent materials or parts where necessary due to supplier availability.
9.1 All workmanship carried out by Plumbing and Heating Surgeons Ltd is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of completion.
9.2 This guarantee covers workmanship only and does not extend to manufacturer defects or product warranties.
9.3 The guarantee does not cover:
9.4 Any issues relating to workmanship must be reported promptly to allow inspection and remedial action where appropriate.
10.1 All gas work will be carried out in accordance with current Gas Safe regulations.
10.2 Customers must not tamper with or alter any gas installation or safety device installed by the Company.
10.3 The Company reserves the right to classify appliances or installations as unsafe where required under current legislation.
11.1 Plumbing and Heating Surgeons Ltd maintains appropriate public liability insurance.
11.2 We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, or costs arising from circumstances outside of our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
11.3 We shall not be responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses including loss of earnings, business interruption, inconvenience, or damage not directly caused by our negligence.
11.4 We accept no liability for damage to concealed pipework, flooring, tiling, decorations, or other hidden areas where access is required to complete works, unless caused by our negligence.
11.5 Our total liability shall not exceed the total value of the work carried out by the Company.
12.1 Waste generated directly from our work will normally be removed and disposed of responsibly unless otherwise agreed.
12.2 Additional charges may apply for removal of hazardous materials, excessive waste, or old appliances.
13.1 Any complaints should be submitted in writing within 14 days of completion of work.
13.2 We will make reasonable efforts to investigate and resolve complaints fairly and promptly.
14.1 Customer information will only be used for legitimate business purposes and handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
15.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
16.1 Plumbing and Heating Surgeons Ltd reserves the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
16.2 The latest version of our Terms & Conditions will always be available on our website and shall supersede any previous versions.
17.1 Where materials, fixtures, appliances, or special-order items have been purchased specifically for a customer's job and are subsequently cancelled or returned, any supplier restocking charges shall be payable by the customer.
17.2 The Company reserves the right to deduct any applicable restocking fees from deposits paid or invoice the customer separately for such costs.
